Many visitors always ask us when is the right and perfect time to go on safari in Uganda, the best time to go is between two dry seasons; December to February & between June to August. These times are best to go safari, gorilla and ChimpanzeeTracking. Game viewing in uganda's savannah Parks is best at the end of the dry seasons ; February and March & September to early October when wildlife is concentrated around water sources.

If you planning to do a gorilla tracking safaris in uganda or Rwanda, advance booking is always preferred as there are limited number of permits available per day . And this availability changes on daily basis , so the earlier is better. As Akajjere Tours, our travel experts will share with you availability information depending on the date you want to travel. Once you confirm the tour with us and ready to pay for the permits , we can all arrange and reserve this for you. The cost of a gorilla tracking permit is at $800 in Uganda and $1500 in Rwanda.

If you planning a tourist or business visit to Uganda, you will need a valid visa..At the time of applying for this mandatory application, be sure to exactly specify the correct date of your arrival based on your flight and length of time you intend to stay in the country, it's recommended you apply for your visa well in advance of your intended visit.

Consider this when packing for Uganda safari, pack long sleeved shirts and trousers, gloves, cap and sunglasses to protect you from strong sunlight, hiking shoes, bag, insect repellents, bag, a plastic bottled water. Ask us for more about this when planning to decide on what to bring

We do suggest you get the yellow fever vaccination before coming to Uganda. Vaccination certificate is mandatory, you have to represent it together with your passport upon arrival at the airport. For purpose of your own safety, other vaccination to include are COVID19, hepatitis A and B, chlorea , typhoid, rabies, meningitis , polio , measles,. We also advise you to take Malaria preventative medication . Other health concerns  HIV/ AIDS is real and even though Uganda has registered lower infection rate compared to other African countries , the prevalence rates are still high. Tourists are therefore warned against engaging in risky behaviors . So protect sexual health serious

Most banks have ATM machines in most cities in Uganda. Visa and other credit cards withdrawals are accepted among many ATM machines. You can withdraw a limited amount in local shillings and some USD to a daily maximum equivalent to about $700 at the day's exchange rate . Maximum to withdraw May depend on your card issuing limitations . Visa, MasterCard , JCB and AMEX can be used in some establishments in Kampala capital city and many upcountry lodgesin National Parks are beginning to accept these cards. Please note that only a few banks accept ATM and MasterCard . Still we advise you to carry some small cash (USD preferably). Upon arrival our safari guides will always recommend you where to have the money exchanged  for your personal use on tour. Again note that if you paying in USD  cash in Uganda, older issued USD note won't be accepted , it's better to have Dollars issued 2013 or later

Entebbe International Airport ( EBB) is Uganda's main airport entry to uganda. International airlines that connect to uganda Entebbe include; uganda airlines, KLM - Air France, Qatar airways, fly Emirates, Delta , Brussels, Turkish, Kenya airlines Ethiopian airlines, Rwanda air and aerolink airlines for domestic flights in uganda.
